Guatemala: diferencias socioeconómicas de la mortalidad de los menores de dos años 1968-1976

Abstract

Deriva estimaciones de la mortalidad en los primeros años de vida, mediante métodos indirectos tipo Brass, del censo de población de 1981 y en menor grado, del censo de 1973. Describe fuentes de datos y el método de estimación utilizado y evalúa resultados. Resume tendencias históricas de la mortalidad en el menor de cinco años en el país y presenta estimaciones geográficas por departamentos y regiones de planificación. Analiza en forma especial la mortalidad en el menor de dos años en función de su grupo socioeconómico, y la mortalidad del niño en las poblaciones indígenas.
