Abstract

Este documento reúne tres trabajos elaborados en el marco de las actividades conjuntas desarrolladas por la FAO y la CEPAL en el tema de innovación en biocombustibles. Benavidez & Cadena presentan un panorama general de la situación de innovación en materia de biocombustibles, tanto de primera generación como de generaciones avanzadas. Boza & Saucedo hacen un análisis comparativo de patentes en la cadena de producción de biocombustibles entre América Latina y el resto del mundo, abarcando tanto concernientes a las innovaciones en la producción de las materias primas, como a los procesos industriales de transformación de las mismas para obtener biocombustibles. Y Boza analiza las políticas y capacidades de I& D para el desarrollo de los biocombustibles en Chile y Colombia.
