Modelo de interacción espacial para el análisis del crecimiento regional del Ecuador

Abstract

Los modelos econométricos para el estudio del crecimiento regional tradicionalmente se centran en la tasa de crecimiento de las economías regionales y especifican los modelos bajo metodologías top down en las cuales se pierde la especificidad de las regiones. En este trabajo se propone un modelo de crecimiento endógeno para los cantones ecuatorianos, en el cual se explica el diferencial de crecimiento regional del Ecuador utilizando una metodología de la econometría espacial tipo bottom up, en la cual aspectos territoriales, sectoriales e institucionales son los factores explicativos básicos del crecimiento.
