Análisis comparativo sobre los programas para adultos mayores en México

Abstract

El artículo está organizado de la siguiente manera. La primera sección expone algunas consideraciones analíticas para la comparación de programas selectivos y universales. En la segunda sección se presenta el contexto general del gasto social en México en el cual se insertan los programas analizados. En seguida, se describen las principales características de estos programas. La cuarta sección analiza las características de la población adulta mayor y la quinta la incidencia comparativa de los programas para adultos mayores, ambas utilizando la Encuesta Nacional de Ingreso y Gasto de los Hogares 2008. Finalmente, las conclusiones resumen los principales resultados y recomendaciones de política pública sobre los programas para adultos mayores.
