Educación en tiempos de pandemia: una oportunidad para transformar los sistemas educativos en América Latina y el Caribe

Abstract

La pandemia de COVID-19 ha significado una crisis económica y social prolongada en América Latina y el Caribe, con profundas consecuencias sobre el bienestar de la población y con un impacto silencioso y devastador sobre la educación. La abrupta transición a la educación a distancia, con uno de los cierres escolares más prolongados en el mundo, ha tenido un impacto desigualador, poniendo en evidencia brechas preexistentes en la región. La crisis ha significado una ruptura de ciertos paradigmas, innovaciones y aprendizajes en las experiencias de adaptación a la educación remota, que hacen difícil volver atrás y obligan a reestructurar los sistemas educativos de manera que sean más resilientes e inclusivos. En este documento se proponen medidas encaminadas a esta transformación educativa.
