Abstract

El presente manual, que el Centro Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Demografía (CELADE)-División de Población de la CEPAL difunde en esta oportunidad, contiene una guía metodológica y conceptual que despliega los principales elementos a tener en cuenta por los países de América Latina y el Caribe al momento de definir metodológica, conceptual, operativa, presupuestaria y financieramente la realización de un censo de población y vivienda en su territorio nacional. El objetivo es brindar una guía práctica que oriente el trabajo de profesionales y técnicos de las oficinas nacionales de estadística de la región, encargados de diseñar, implementar y evaluar los censos de población y viviendas al momento de elaborar y realizar la presentación del proyecto censal ante las respectivas autoridades gubernamentales
