Abstract

Reúne las ponencias presentadas al Seminario así como parte de los resultados de la encuesta a los países sobre el diseño conceptual y los temas a investigar en los censos del 2000. Los principales aspectos abordados dicen relación con: los censos y las políticas y programas de desarrollo; los conceptos censales básicos; la vivienda el hogar y la familia; las características económicas y educativas de la población; el origen étnico; las características demográficas y de salud; los movimientos migratorios; el diseño del cuestionario censal; la crítica y la evaluación del censo. En forma complementaria, se incluye una reseña de los aspectos más sobresalientes del debate así como los discursos inaugurales.
