Investimento brasileiro no exterior: panorama e considerações sobre políticas públicas

Abstract

Resumen A partir do início dos anos noventa o investimento direto no exterior (IDE) por parte de empresas brasileiras aumentou significativamente. O fenômeno é uma reação a fatores domésticos, regionais e globais, bem como fruto do amadurecimento organizacional e financeiro de algumas das maiores empresas do país. O aumento do IDE brasileiro acontece em paralelo ao de outros países da região e do mundo em desenvolvimento. Não obstante, tem características próprias que são relevantes principalmente no que diz respeito aos efeitos do IDE para o desenvolvimento produtivo do Brasil. Os impactos do investimento no exterior para o país de origem são diversos e complexos. A análise das motivações para o IDE permite, no entanto, fazer algumas considerações sobre efeitos prováveis e pode contribuir para o debate sobre o que deve ser o papel das políticas públicas no Brasil diante desse aumento da internacionalização produtiva das empresas de capital nacional.
