Hacia una educación permanente en Chile

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan los cambios en la formación personal generados por la demanda de recursos humanos y las respuestas del sistema de educación formal, de la capacitación que ofrecen los centros de enseñanza, las empresas y otras instituciones que comparten los esfuerzos de facilitar la preparación para una sociedad en proceso de transición. También se consideran temas que son objeto de debate, como algunas paradojas del desarrollo actual, la realidad y el alcance de lo educacional en un escenario complejo, la persistencia de problemas a veces ampliamente diagnosticados, pero que no han sido suficientemente atendidos, y la urgente necesidad de un mayor énfasis en lo básico (alfabetismo funcional, educación general, competencias básicas, desarrollo ciudadano, desarrollo de la empleabilidad); para una gestión del conocimiento y del talento. Las propuestas de estrategias y políticas para llegar a un sistema integrado de formación permanente dan origen al capítulo final.
