Capacidad de innovación en industrias exportadoras de Chile: la industria del vino y la agroindustria hortofrutícola

Abstract

Este documento presenta una evaluación de la capacidad para innovar, de dos cadenas alimentarias en Chile: la cadena del vino y la hortofrutícola. Estos aspectos, que son vitales para la competitividad de la empresa, con frecuencia se dejan de lado por la carencia de cifras e información básica, siendo al mismo tiempo indispensables para mejorar las políticas e instrumentos que aseguran la competitividad. La comprensión del comportamiento de la empresa requirió estudiar el contexto en que ésta se desenvuelve, principalmente las características de la cadena de valor, el entorno económico y el mercado, así como el desempeño en la innovación de los principales competidores del mercado mundial. Conociendo estas características del entorno, se construyó un modelo del sistema de innovación, aplicable a la realidad chilena. Este modelo se concentró en siete focos de análisis, que están interrelacionados: la estrategia empresarial, las prácticas innovadoras al interior de la empresa, la articulación a redes de conocimiento, la alerta tecnológica, disponibilidad de recursos, condiciones de entorno y resultados.
