Oportunidades y desafíos de especialización y diversificación productiva en la provincia de San Juan

Abstract

En este documento se analizan las actividades y los sectores priorizados por el Ministerio de Producción y Desarrollo Económico de la provincia de San Juan. Las capacidades productivas de San Juan se agruparon en un primer conjunto de actividades vinculadas a la economía de oasis, históricamente arraigada en la provincia, entre las que destacan la vitivinicultura, la olivicultura, la producción de frutos secos y de tomate para la industria, la frutihorticultura y la ganadería. Un segundo grupo reúne a las actividades con posibilidades de generar encadenamientos, como la minería y el desarrollo de sus proveedores, y las energías renovables, con especial énfasis en las fuentes hidroeléctrica y solar. Entre los sectores relativamente nuevos o emergentes se destacan el turismo, que ha recibido un nuevo impulso y merece ser reposicionado, la economía del conocimiento —que aún cuenta con un amplio margen para vincularse con la base productiva de la provincia— y el cannabis con fines medicinales.
