La integración productiva entre la Argentina y Chile: un análisis estructural a partir de matrices insumo-producto multipaís

Abstract

En el presente documento se examina el alcance de la integración productiva entre la Argentina y Chile desde un enfoque insumo-producto. La oleada de transformaciones en el funcionamiento de la economía global parece reafirmar a la integración regional como una respuesta efectiva para las economías de América Latina y el Caribe frente a los desafíos de expandir y diversificar sus exportaciones en el marco de las crecientes tensiones comerciales. En el caso de la Argentina y Chile, los datos indican que, a pesar de la cercanía geográfica y la virtual liberalización del intercambio, los vínculos comerciales y productivos han tendido a erosionarse desde mediados de la década de 2000. Los resultados obtenidos también permiten señalar espacios fértiles para la complementariedad productiva que podrían examinarse en vista de una agenda de mayor integración bilateral.
