Estándares e interoperabilidad en salud electrónica: Requisitos para una gestión sanitaria efectiva y eficiente

Abstract

Se revisan diversos aspectos de las políticas de salud y la calidad asistencial, así como el aporte de las TIC en distintos ámbitos de ésta. En particular, se alude al manejo de la información en salud y a la aplicación de las TIC en la mejora de la calidad asistencial. Finalmente, se aboca al tema de los estándares y la interoperabilidad en los sistemas de información en salud, explorando los distintos tipos y niveles de interoperabilidad, las áreas de aplicación de estándares y estándares específicos requeridos para determinadas necesidades de interoperabilidad. El caso de Brasil se expone mostrando los pasos dados para generar una propuesta de un conjunto de estándares y el marco legal necesario para ello, constituyendo un ejemplo para otros países que recién comienzan a transitar por este camino.
