Sostenibilidad ambiental y competitividad internacional: la huella de carbono de las exportaciones de alimentos

Abstract

Entre 2012 y 2014, la División de Comercio Internacional e Integración de la CEPAL ejecutó el proyecto “Fortalecimiento de las capacidades nacionales de los sectores exportadores en América Latina y el Caribe para afrontar los retos del cambio climático”, también conocido como “Huella de Carbono y Exportaciones de Alimentos”. El proyecto tuvo por objetivo fortalecer las capacidades de los gobiernos y los exportadores de alimentos de la región para enfrentar los desafíos que plantea la interacción entre el comercio internacional y las diversas iniciativas vinculadas con el cambio climático en las economías industrializadas, específicamente la medición y el etiquetado de huella de carbono. La presente publicación sintetiza las principales actividades y resultados de este proyecto, así como los aprendizajes más importantes que se desprenden del mismo, tanto para los formuladores de políticas como para los sectores empresariales.
