Nivel educativo de la poblacion, crecimiento y bienestar economico

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la influencia de la educacion y la investigacion sobre el desarrollo economico de los paises europeos y de sus regiones. Para ello estudiamos las relaciones existentes entre la inversion en I+D, que constituye uno de los motores mas importantes del crecimiento, con el nivel educativo, que representa a su vez otro factor fundamental en la expansion de las economias. Analizando especialmente el nivel educativo alcanzado por la poblacion activa, en sus diferentes niveles, principalmente educacion secundaria y superior. Este analisis se realiza para los paises europeos y en la medida en la que la disponibilidad de datos lo permite para sus regiones, estudiando ademas de los anteriores factores cuantitativos, otros de tipo cualitativo como el nivel de bienestar social alcanzado.
