Os Impactos do Mercosul no Nordeste do Brasil

Abstract

Este estudo testa hipóteses sobre o impacto do MERCOSUL no Nordeste do Brasil. Para isso, utiliza-se um modelo de equilíbrio geral que incluirá equações para a determinação do PIB de todos os países envolvidos no MERCOSUL, inclusive o Chile. A partir desse modelo, testa-se hipóteses e faz-se simulações capazes de indicar quais os impactos do MERCOSUL no Nordeste do Brasil. A principal conclusão desse trabalho é que o MERCOSUL não terá impacto negativo ou irrelevante para o Nordeste do Brasil. Esse impacto será positivo e relevante, apesar de menor do que no resto do Brasil, o que faz com que o mercado comum contribua para o acirramento das desigualdades regionais no País.
