Energiegenossenschaften in der Energiewende

Abstract

Die Energiewende soll zu einer nachhaltigen Energieversorgung auf der Grundlage regenerativer Energieträger führen. Zu ihrer Umsetzung spielen auch dezentrale Konzepte eine wichtige Rolle. Für die direkte Beteiligung von Bürgern bietet sich die Gesellschaftsform der Genossenschaft an, die dem wirtschaftlichen Nutzen ihrer Mitglieder dient und nicht in erster Linie profitorientiert ist. In den vergangenen Jahren kam es zunächst zu einem regelrechten Gründungsboom von Energiegenossenschaften, der auch auf die staatliche Förderung erneuerbarer Energien zurückzuführen ist. Die inzwischen vorgenommenen Änderungen der Förderung haben sich auf die Zahl der Neugründungen ausgewirkt. Energiegenossenschaften leisten vor allem in ländlichen Gegenden einen Beitrag zur Energieversorgung. Darüber hinaus setzen sie das Signal, dass die Energiewende von unten möglich ist.
