Umsteuern erforderlich: Klimaschutz im Verkehrssektor

Abstract

Der Sachverständigenrat für Umweltfragen (SRU) hat in seinem Sondergutachten vom 23. November die Transformation des Verkehrssektors zur Erfüllung der Klimaschutzziele vor dem Hintergrund einer sich wandelnden Gesellschaft analysiert. Das Gutachten beleuchtet den Stand des Wissens zu technisch und ökonomisch sinnvollen Pfaden zu einem klimaneutralen und ressourceneffizienten Verkehrssystem. Es hat zentrale Empfehlungen zur Erreichung einer vollständigen Dekarbonisierung des Verkehrssystems erarbeitet. Nur durch eine Kombination verschiedener Strategien in den Bereichen Mobilität, Infrastruktur und Rohstoffe sowie gezielter Anreizsetzung sind die Ziele des Klima-, Umwelt- und Gesundheitsschutzes erreichbar.
