Etude de l’Homophilie Sociopro-fessionnelle à travers l’enquête contacts

Abstract

We know that there is in our companies(societies) a tendency to the homogamie. What ishe(it) in the friendly relations? Does the choice of the friends answer the same logic of socialnearness as that of the spouse? In statistical terms, to answer this question means wondering ifwe observe a quasi-diagonal structure of the picture(board) of contingency crossing the socialcategory of a person with that of his friend. This note will lean on the inquiry " Contactsbetween the persons ", realized in 1982-83, to study the structure of such paintings(boards).Three methods will be used and their compared results: the analysis of the binarycorrespondences (for whom(which) we used the SPAD software), the models RC of Goodman(used software: Lem) and the multidimensional scaling (used software: HIS(ITS,HER)). Weshall examine, in particular, in which measure this possible quasi-diagonal structure can beused to build scales(ladders) of social nearness. The comparison of scales(ladders) calculatedat the first two levels of the wordlist of the social and occupational groups will allow to judgeof the reliability of the order of obtained status.
