Abstract

En juillet dernier, nous constations qu’une vague d’optimisme avait touché les répondants à notre enquête. Les réponses aux questions relatives à l’avenir, traditionnellement moroses en France, s’étaient brusquement améliorées. Trois mois plus tard, une large part de cette vague est retombée, accréditant l’idée qu’il s’agissait d’un effet conjoncturel lié aux élections, sans qu’il soit possible à ce stade de savoir si les thèmes de la campagne ont amplifié cet effet. Sur un an, soit en comparant septembre 2017 à septembre 2016, nous constatons toutefois une amélioration progressive de cette perception de l’avenir. Le paradoxe français, écart entre un optimisme pour soi-même et un pessimisme quant à l’avenir collectif, semble donc se résorber lentement.
