Abstract

“El rechazo a la guerra y la búsqueda de alternativas para el logro de la paz han sido objeto de múltiples manifestaciones recientes por parte de la sociedad civil. La mas significa ti vade todas ellas ha sido, sin lugar a dudas, la reciente consulta popular a favor del Mandato Ciudadano por la Paz, la Vida y la Libertad. Esta propuesta surgida de la unión de Redepaz, País Libre y la Unicef, hace parte de un proceso de búsqueda de alternativas para el logro de la Paz, como reacción a la generalización de los problemas de violencia en el país. Como aporte a este propósito nacional, Coyuntura Social ha querido dedicar este número a la presentación de estudios que ofrecen nuevos elementos para el análisis de esta problemática. En todos ellos se formulan algunas reflexiones que ofrecen nuevas opciones para encausar la acción del Estado en este campo. Estos trabajos complementan el articulo de Losada y Vélez, publicado en el primer número de esta revista, en el cual se presenta por primera vez una serie histórica desde 1955 sobre la frecuencia relativa de los homicidios en Colombia.”
