Abstract

Análisis coyuntural de los indicadores coyunturales de empleo, del Plan de Desarrollo y de la reforma pensional a junio 2003. En días pasados, el DANE dio a conocer las cifras más recientes del mercado laboral. El último dato de desempleo nacional de abril fue de 14,8%, mayor en 1,8 puntos porcentuales que el del mes anterior pero menor que el del mismo mes de 2002 (16,1%). Esta cifra contrasta con la tasa de desocupación en las 13 ciudades más importantes del país, la cual fue de 17,9%, me- nor a la de igual mes del año pasado (18,3%). Los resultados incitan al debate dado que el desempleo es uno de los principales problemas que enfrenta actualmente el país. ¿La tasa de desempleo comenzó a declinar en forma sostenida, o por el contrarío, es coyuntural dicha disminución?
