El Impacto De La Competencia En La Producción De Maquinaria En Colombia

Abstract

Resumen El presente documento busca analizar el impacto de la competencia en el sector de maquinaria colombiano para el período 1992 - 2004. En el estudio de este sector sólo se tomará en cuenta la maquinaria no eléctrica. En este aspecto, la competencia, analizada dentro del modelo con un índice de concentración de la competencia, se toma como un elemento que también puede generar transferencia tecnológica. Se trabaja con datos suministrados por el DANE, principalmente con la encuesta anual manufacturera y la CIIU A.C. (revisión 3). Se hará un supuesto en el trabajo y este es para uno de los modelos. Se supondrá que la diferencia en producción entre una empresa y la otra del sector de maquinaria no es mucha. Los dos modelos difieren sólo en el aspecto del índice. Los resultados que arrojó el estudio son que la competencia en el sector de la maquinaria colombiana es relevante a la hora de analizar la transferencia tecnológica en dicho sector. Los modelos propuestos se estiman mediante una regresión lineal con una función de producción log-lineal.
