Impacto Del Cargue En Los Puertos Carboníferos Sobre La Utilidad Del Sector Hotelero En La Ciudad De Santa Marta

Abstract

Resumen En este articulo se analiza el impacto del cargue de carbón sobre la utilidad del sector hotelero en la ciudad de Santa Marta, en el periodo comprendido entre los anos 1990 y 2006. Se trabajó con datos estadísticos de la operación hotelera obtenidos de la Asociación Hotelera de Colombia (COTELCO), como también con datos de la producción y exportación de carbón, suministrados por la Unidad de Planeación Minero Energética (UPME). Con la ayuda de una función de utilidad, se estimó que la operación de cargue del mineral no incide de manera significativa en la utilidad de la industria hotelera de la ciudad. La utilidad del sector hotelero es consecuente con la teoría, según la cual los niveles de utilidad dependen del volumen de ventas, ya que estas son el único factor preponderante.
