Transición paradigmática en la industriaagro-biotecnológica mundial

Abstract

En este artículo se realiza una caracterización del proceso de transición paradigmática que se está viviendo en la industria agro-biotecnológica mundial. El resultado principal del análisis realizado señala que la trayectoria de innovación que se viene desplegando en esta industria a partir de la emergencia de la edición génica como innovación fundamental implica un corte relativo respecto de lo ocurrido con la transgénesis vegetal. En el marco de un conjunto de factores de continuidad, emergen elementos de cambio que tienden a promover una reducción de las barreras tecnológicas e institucionales para el desarrollo de nuevos productos. Esta reconfiguración de las condiciones productivas existentes representa, a su vez, una oportunidad para el reposicionamiento de los países que tradicionalmente han jugado un papel subordinado en la dinámica innovativa de esta industria
