La relevancia de la industria para Colombia y América Latina

Abstract

¿Por qué la industria? La respuesta es que la industria, la manufactura, tiene característicasimplícitas que la hacen destacable, y más productiva, sobre las actividades primarias, agrícolas yminerales, a pesar del supuesto ortodoxo de que no hay sectores superiores a otros. El mercadoescoge. La política industrial y el desarrollo de la industria ha sido la política deliberada de lospaíses llamados hoy países desarrollados. Sin embargo, los teóricos de las agencias multilaterales,como el BM, siguen insistiendo en que las actividades primarias también son una alternativa, deigual nivel que las actividades industriales, para las economías emergentes. Este ensayo trata demostrar lo contrario.
