El mercado laboral y la seguridad social en Colombia entre finales del siglo XX y principios del siglo XXI

Abstract

Este documento intenta reconciliar las estadísticas laborales y de seguridad social anteriores y posteriores al ano 2000, en la búsqueda de algunas tendencias de fondo del mercado laboral y la seguridad social. Asimismo, reflexiona sobre la sucesiva recuperación del ciclo económico que ha tenido lugar a costas de la calidad del empleo y de un estancamiento de los ingresos laborales; así como sobre los límites existentes para la expansión de la cobertura del sistema de seguridad social. A partir de este estudio, sobresalen dos temas para una próxima agenda investigativa: la comparabilidad de las cifras desagregadas de seguridad social entre fuentes administrativas y estadísticas, y el estudio de las condiciones laborales de los trabajadores calificados.
