La calidad del empleo en 23 ciudades colombianas

Abstract

Este documento presenta la aplicación de un índice sintético de la calidad del empleo, desarrollado a partir de la propuesta metodológica de la oficina de la OIT de Santiago de Chile. En él, se presentan los progresos, retrocesos y estancamiento, en algunos casos, experimentados en materia de calidad del empleo en veintitrés ciudades colombianas entre los anos 2010 y 2013. Este estudio refleja las diferencias existentes entre ciudades y la que ha sido su evolución en el tiempo respecto de los cuatros indicadores que miden las variables que integran el indicador sintético de calidad del empleo. El estudio presentado permite comparar el desempeno de los municipios en materia de la calidad del empleo con otras ciudades y respecto del total nacional, y muestra campos de acción con miras a establecer medidas o programas que corrijan o reafirmen los retrocesos o avances obtenidos entre 2010 y 2013, en materia de ingresos, jornada laboral, formalización contractual y seguridad social, aspectos esenciales en el bienestar de la población. Asimismo, posibilita el desarrollo de estrategias por parte del Gobierno, a fin de lograr avances sistemáticos en la calidad del empleo.
