Contribución de la actividad ferial de Corferias en Bogotá y Colombia: Estudio de impacto

Abstract

Este documento presenta un nuevo cálculo del impacto económico de las ferias y eventos organizados por Corferias, el principal recinto ferial y organizador de ferias en Colombia, y uno de los más importantes en América Latina. Utilizando matrices insumo-producto regionales y encuestas a los participantes en las ferias, se estima que el impacto total generado por las actividades de ferias y eventos en Bogotá fue del 4,7% del PIB de la ciudad en 2023. De manera similar, en Medellín el impacto fue del 3%, y en Barranquilla, del 1,1% del PIB de cada ciudad en ese mismo año. Además, mediante un diseño cuasiexperimental, se encuentra que la participación en ferias comerciales aumenta en un 8% las ventas y en un 11% el empleo de algunas de las empresas participantes, en comparación con empresas similares que no participaron.
