Abstract

El propósito central de este trabajo es evaluar el impacto del Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) sobre la economía de la region, lo cual no es una tarea fácil. Desde un punto de vista analítico, es necesario combinar diversas metodologías que permitan identificar diferentes canales a través de los cuales el TLC puede afectar el desemperio económico de la región. El trabajo utiliza varias herramientas analíticas, que vistas en su conjunto, mejoran el entendimiento de la realidad económica de la región y, con ello, el diseno de las políticas públicas.
