Deserción y retención, en la carrera de economía de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali: un análisis de supervivencia 2000-2008

Abstract

Resumen En el presente estudio, a través del análisis de la base de datos de los estudiantes de Economía, de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali, desde su inicio, en el año 2000, hasta el primer semestre del año 2008, se determinan las características asociadas la deserción de dichos estudiantes. Se tienen en cuenta, según la teoría: variables socioeconómicas, institucionales y personales. Esto, con el fin de realizar un modelo de supervivencia en el que se determine el riesgo de desertar que tienen los estudiantes. De esta forma, se pretende apoyar la retención, a través de varios programas, como el realizado por la Consejería Académica.
