Radiografía de la pobreza en Colombia

Abstract

La tasa de pobreza ha disminuido considerablemente en Colombia, pero todavía hay tres millones de colombianos que no tienen ingresos suficientes para cubrir sus necesidades básicas. En este artículo presentamos características descriptivas de los hogares colombianos en condición de pobreza monetaria, en el espíritu de Banerjee y Duflo (2007). Usamos cuatro bases de datos distintas para cubrir diversos indicadores económicos. Si bien el valor promedio de los indicadores en Colombia son mejores que en otros países en desarrollo, lo más preocupante es la desigualdad entre regiones, y zonas rurales comparadas a las urbanas.
