Abstract

Also due to the drastic investments contraction recorded in recent years in European coun-tries, in November 2014 the just newly formed European Commission announced an invest-ment plan by 315 Billion to boost Europe's growth and give work to a greater number of people. In fact, the measures provided for in this plan – known as President Junker's –, ac-cording to estimates made by the European Commission’s offices, could increase the EU's GDP by an amount between 330 and 410 Billion over the next three years and create as many as 1.3 Million new jobs. Given the misgivings and doubts about the plan, prevalent among analysts and commenta-tors, this paper is a brief critical analysis of such a plan, not only in the light of scientific de-bate conducted in recent months but also on the basis of measures already undertaken by the EU for some years, consisting of, on the one hand, development strategy "Europe 2020" and, on the other hand, the policy of economic, social and territorial cohesion for the 2014-2020 programming period.
