¿Contribuye la ISO 26000 a la consolidación de las acciones de Responsabilidad Social en la operatoria de las organizaciones?

Abstract

La ISO 26000, elaborada a lo largo de un proceso que duró nueve años y que incluyó cinco años de consultas y negociaciones realizadas a nivel mundial, fue pensada como la guía global para la responsabilidad social en todos los ámbitos, sin estar limitada al mundo de los negocios y de la actividad corporativa. La idea que la fundamenta sería la de orientar todas las organizaciones, públicas, privadas y sin fines de lucro, radicadas en países desarrollados o en vías de desarrollo, pequeñas o grandes, hacia comportamientos socialmente responsables. Para lograr una mayor comprensión de esa problemática procura señalar a dichas organizaciones la mejor forma de compatibilizar dichos comportamientos con sus actividades habituales. Y su objetivo final sería contribuir a un desarrollo sustentable, sin constituirse en algún tipo de estándar utilizable con propósitos de certificación.
