Abstract

Cet article a pour objet d'évaluer, dans le cas des expériences d'inflation chronique de l'Argentine et d'Israël, l'effet sur l'inertie du taux d'inflation de la crédibilité de la politique économique. La variable de crédibilité est construite à partir du ratio entre les encaisses MI en monnaie locale sur les encaisses en devises. L'estimation économétrique ne permet pas de rejetter l'hypothèse que la crédibilité de la politique économique joue un rôle important dans la réussite d'un programme de stabilisation de l'inflation.
