El crédito comercial en la empresa canaria: Una aplicación del system estimator con datos de panel

Abstract

En este estudio se obtienen los factores determinantes del uso del crédito comercial para una muestra de empresas canarias durante el período 1990-1996. Utilizando la metodología de datos de panel, los resultados señalan que el crédito comercial permite reducir tanto las asimetrías informativas entre las empresas y sus financiadores como los costes de transacción.La comparación de estos resultados con los de otros trabajos relacionados permite señalar que las empresas canarias tienen un comportamiento similar al resto de las empresas españolas en su uso de crédito comercial. No obstante, en este estudio se detecta un efecto sectorial que no ha sido encontrado en aquéllos.
