Extended-value logic

Abstract

In 2001, I gave a presentation on three-valued logic. Since then, I have developed some ideas that grew out of that investigation, leading to new insights about missing values, and to the development of five-valued logic. I will also show how these notions extend to numeric computation and to an abstract generalization of the principles involved. This is not about analysis; this is about data construction and preparation, and it is a possibly interesting conceptual tool.
