Determinantes del acceso al microcrédito para emprendedores bolivianos

Abstract

El crédito es una de las principales necesidades de los agentes económicos que deciden emprender una actividad económica propia. En Bolivia, gran parte del financiamiento dirigido al sector informal se canaliza a través de la industria microfinanciera, la cual está conformada por entidades de distinta naturaleza jurídica desde organizaciones no gubernamentales hasta entidades financieras especializadas en el rubro. El documento analiza los factores que influyen sobre la probabilidad de que un agente del sector informal pueda obtener financiamiento a través de una entidad de intermediación financiera con el objetivo de emprender un negocio, empresa o actividad económica. Para ello se emplea un enfoque microeconómico a través de modelos de variable dependiente discreta. Se halló evidencia que el ingreso, el historial crediticio, el género, entre otras, son variables que influirían en el acceso al crédito de estos agentes.
