La economía de las aguas del río Sinú

Abstract

Elcamino aluvial marcado por el Sinú es una de las más importantes fuentes de aguas dela costa Caribe,por la indiscutible importancia ambienta y por su rol vital en el desarrollo de la economía y la cultura de quienes habitan sus riberas.En sur ecorrido transita por ocho municipios y a su paso ha suscitado actividades económicas como: la agricultura y la pesca, que datan de épocas prehispánicas;la ganadería,a la cual se destina el 57% del territorio de Córdoba; y uno de los más grandes proyectos que se ha llevado a cabo en el departamento,la hidroeléctrica de Urrá. A la presencia del río también obedece la práctica de actividades como la minería arenera y el transporte en improvisados medios, creados dentro de la informalidad.Asimismo, este río que fue testigo y origen de la majestuosa cultura anfibia Zenú, una de las poblaciones más prósperas de la Colombia prehispánica,en elpresente sus habitantes enfrentan uno de los más altos índices de pobreza, desplazamientos forzados,violencia y desigualdad,especialmente en la tierra.
