La Banca Central en Colombia

Abstract

El Banco de la República es consciente de la importancia de difundir una cultura informativa en torno a la banca central en Colombia, sobretodo cuando se es responsable ante la comunidad del mandato constitucional de velar por el poder adquisitivo del Peso. En este folleto se establece una sinopsis del actual Banco de la República como eje central del nuevo sistema de banca central instaurado por la Constitucional Política de 1991 y de su evolución institucional desde 1923, año cuando fue fundado. Además, se presentan, en términos breves, cuáles fueron los antecedentes de la banca central en nuestro país, remontándose a los comienzos de la época de la independencia.
