Intergenerational Social Mobility in Occupational Skills in Nuevo León, Mexico

Abstract

Este estudio se enfoca en la movilidad social entre generaciones con respecto a las habilidades ocupacionales de las personas en el estado de Nuevo León, además de estimar las diferencias que se presentan entre hombres y mujeres. A partir de los datos de la Encuesta ESRU de Movilidad Social en Nuevo León 2021, se puede afirmar que en este aspecto las mujeres han logrado una mayor movilidad que los hombres, los cuales tienen una persistencia más uniforme en las habilidades ocupacionales que tuvieron sus padres. Sin embargo, en la entidad, la movilidad descendente es más pronunciada que la movilidad ascendente, lo que implica que se han perdido habilidades ocupacionales de una generación a otra, y los hombres tienen más probabilidades de experimentar este descenso.
