«Transmisión intergeneracional de la desigualdad en salud y políticas públicas en México»

Abstract

Se plantea una estrategia metodológica para abrir brecha en el tema de la movilidad intergeneracional en salud. Se enfoca en la esperanza de vida de dos generaciones consecutivas y ofrece un modelo de estimación para analizar el fenómeno de la movilidad intergeneracional en salud en México, a partir de dos fuentes de datos diferentes: el Módulo de Condiciones Socioeconómicas de la Encuesta Nacional de Ingreso y Gasto de los Hogares (MCS-ENIGH) 2014 y la Encuesta ESRU de Movilidad Social en México (ESRU-EMOVI) 2011. El modelo, además de estimar el grado en que la esperanza de vida de las madres y los padres condiciona la de sus hijas e hijos (fenómeno al que podemos denominar «transmisión intergeneracional en salud»), permite analizar la influencia del contexto socioeconómico de los hogares sobre la esperanza de vida, así como la capacidad de ciertas políticas públicas para reducir los obstáculos a la salud que una generación hereda a la otra.
