«Felicidad y estilos de crianza parental»

Abstract

Se utiliza un enfoque de bienestar subjetivo para estudiar los efectos positivos o perniciosos de distintos estilos de crianza paternal. El enfoque de bienestar subjetivo postula que la felicidad se puede estudiar de manera científica. La investigación de felicidad permite corroborar teorías y provee información útil para el diseño de políticas de intervención que sean efectivas (en el alcance del bienestar de los beneficiarios) y eficaces (lográndolo a un menor costo). Esta investigación realiza un estudio empírico a partir de la información proveniente de la Encuesta de Movilidad y Capital Social en Monterrey de 2012. Los hallazgos muestran que los estilos de crianza parental se asocian con la felicidad de los adolescentes durante su crianza, así como con su felicidad durante la vida adulta. Es posible sostener que existe una asociación positiva entre los estilos de crianza democráticos y la felicidad de las personas. De igual forma, y en especial para las mujeres, la felicidad está negativamente asociada a los estilos de crianza autoritarios.
