Graphic Analysis: Applications in Agricultural Economics

Abstract

Excerpts from the Introduction: Graphic analysis has always been an important tool in agricultural economics research. It has a long and honorable history in the former Bureau of Agricultural Economics, its successor agencies in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and in the land-grant colleges. The graphic tool is almost indispensable in preliminary analysis. In recent years, it has been too much neglected. Fancy, super-refined mathematics and electronic computations are wonderful things, but they are of little practical use unless they describe relationships that actually exist in the real world. One of the main ways to find out about these relationships is through graphics.
