Abstract

Excerpt from the report Introduction: This publication brings together for the first time detailed information on the per capita consumption of all major food commodities in the United States, including the basic data on supplies and distribution from which the consumption estimates are derived. Sources and methods are described and evaluated, and considerable supplementary information useful for statistical analysis of the demand for food is presented.
