Changing Productivity and Efficiency of Frozen Food Locker Cooperatives

Author

  • Parsons, Richard

Abstract

Excerpt from the report: Between 1960 and 1965, more than a third of the estimated 600 frozen food locker cooperatives discontinued operations; some had closed their plants and others were still operating, but not as cooperatives. Frozen food locker cooperatives still operating must plan to change their operations to remain solvent. This study had two purposes: To determine what changes in operations occurred in a group of cooperatives that stayed in business, and to assess the characteristics common to the firms that discontinued cooperative locker plant operation.
