Análise Do Trade-Off Na Produção De Açúcar E Álcool Nas Usinas Da Região Centro-Sul Do Brasil

Abstract

O estudo do trade-off na produção de açúcar e álcool nas usinas da região Centro-Sul do Brasil demonstra como ocorreu a decisão alocativa de produção nas unidades que produziram conjuntamente estes dois produtos nas safras 2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2003- 2004 e 2004-2005. Os produtos açúcar e álcool são oriundos da cana-de-açúcar que representa cerca de 80% do custo de produção desses dois produtos (plantio, colheita, moagem e preparo do caldo). O Brasil é o maior produtor e exportador desses produtos no mundo e o único que produz açúcar e álcool em grande escala e derivados do mesmo insumo produtivo. O estudo demonstrou como ocorreu a composição do mix de produção de acordo com os sinais de mercado representados pelos preços dos produtos.
