Abstract

Este trabalho analisou a distribuição dos recursos disponíveis do crédito rural para a produção agrícola em Mato Grosso entre 1993 e 2001, e a relação entre o crédito rural em diferentes finalidades e esta produção. Perceberam-se relações fortes entre área colhida e produção, e pouco efeito do crédito oficial de custeio, refletindo a mudança das fontes do crédito de custeio que migraram para o crédito informal. Observaram-se as variações do crédito de investimento e de comercialização no estágio de desenvolvimento das culturas, comprovando a importância destes nos últimos anos. Os indicadores de concentração de Herfindahl-Hirschman evidenciaram oscilações significativas entre os anos e finalidades, com relativa desconcentração nos três últimos anos. A análise econométrica, com dados de seção cruzada e série temporal, possibilitou a obtenção de resultados desagregados para as diferentes regiões do Estado, mas não confirmou a importância do crédito formal para a produção agrícola de Mato Grosso.
