Abstract
With the purpose to identify priority topics, it was applied the Brain-writing 6-3-5 tools, using as a sustainable element the Extractive Reserve of Rio Ouro Preto, RO; with a technical team of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) located in municipality and representatives of the community of RESEX. In a next stage, was applied a data-collection questionnaire concerning the current production of the Familiar Units of the community Nossa Senhora dos Seringueiros, one of ten that compose the RESEX of River Ouro Preto. The study indicated that the simple creation of RESEXs does not reveal enough economical, social, and ambient support for the units and its population. It also demonstrated that the extractivism needs to be developed at the community, related to improvement studies to increase the incomes and the life quality of the concerned population. Indeed the elaboration of a Handling Plan for the RESEX Rio Ouro Preto becomes the indispensable and urgent tool to make the measure and identification of the potential of extractism products possible.
