Abstract

This paper analyses educational inequality opportunity in brazilian rural and urban areas using a schooling attainment profile which define graphically the proportion of youngs on poorest, middle and richest families that conclude each schooling grade. The results show that the difficulty to decrease wealth gap at education are much bigger in rural areas, where drop-out among the poor is much fastter on primary school than urban areas.
